Masai Mara National Park Safari

A 10-day luxury safari in Kenya and Tanzania is an incredible opportunity to explore the diverse wildlife and stunning landscapes of East Africa. The trip takes you first to Kenya where you will spend five days. while here, you will visit lake Naivasha and Masai mara then you proceed to Tanzania, (Serengeti national park, Ngorongoro and Manyara). you will cross from Masai mara into Serengeti via the Isebania border. You have the option of finishing the tour in Nairobi rather than Arusha by transferring to Amboseli for one or two nights at the end. This itinerary can also be completed in reverse, beginning in Arusha.

Arrival

You will be picked up from the airport
Accommodation before the tour starts can be arranged for an extra cost.
Arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, the driver will pick you up and transfer to a luxury hotel or lodge for relaxation and overnight stay.
Optional: Explore Nairobi’s attractions such as the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust or the Karen Blixen Museum

Day 1: Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park

After an early morning breakfast, the driver will pick you up and drive you to lake Nakuru National Park, Lake Nakuru is famous for having the biggest population of flamingos, Lake Nakuru lies across the equator and southward of Bogoria in the Great Rift Valley and also recognised for being one of the natural wonders of the world.
Lake Nakuru is also a rhino sanctuary, harbouring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos. It is the flamingos, of course, that have always been the main attraction. There may be almost two million flamingos in residence at any given time, forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band around the edge of the lakeshore. You will arrive in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at a campsite or lodge.

Day 2: Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya

Drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s premier wildlife reserves. also known as the Maasai Mara or simply the Mara, is a renowned wildlife reserve located in southwestern Kenya. It is part of the larger Mara ecosystem and is known for its exceptional wildlife viewing opportunities, particularly during the Great Migration. Arriving in the park in time for lunch, Later afternoon, you will go on game drives to spot the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino) and other wildlife.
Experience the annual wildebeest migration (depending on the time of year)
Stay at a luxury tented camp or lodge in the reserve. Note: accommodation can also be downgraded to more budget options.

Day 3-4: Masai Mara National Reserve

After the morning breakfast, you will have full day game drive in Masai mara with a picnic lunch, The reserve is well known for its black-maned lions and abundant wildlife. This is one of the few places where it’s possible to see the big five during a morning game drive. Many of the cheetahs are so tame they seek shelter from the hot sun under vehicles. Several even climb onto the roof to get a better view of prospective prey!
For the bird enthusiasts – almost 500 species have been recorded here. Among these include 16 species of eagle, many hawks and falcons, six species of vultures, eight species of storks, four species of bustard (including the Kori bustard, the world’s heaviest flying bird), and nine species of sunbirds.

Day 5: Serengeti National Park, Tanzania

Rise up early for morning breakfast at the lodge afterwards, exit Masai Mara and drive to Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s most famous wildlife park.
Enjoy game drives to witness the abundant wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, and giraffes
Visit the Serengeti’s iconic kopjes and witness the Great Migration (seasonal)
Overnight stay at a luxury camp or lodge in the park.

Day 6-7: Full day Serengeti national park

As you crest the hillside, the vast Serengeti spreads out before you as far as the eyes can see. Serengeti means “endless plains” in Kiswahili. This 6,900 sq. mile (18,000 sq. km) park is inhabited by more than two million large animals, including more than a million wildebeest, hundreds of thousands of plains zebras, and Thomson’s gazelles. Large predators, including lions, cheetahs, and hyenas, are drawn to the area by the abundance of prey that migrates throughout the park. Many smaller animals such as rock hyrax, bat-eared foxes, mongoose, honey badger, jackals, monkeys, baboons, and African hares also inhabit the area, along with nearly 500 species of birds.
You will spend the second day on morning and afternoon game drives in the Serengeti.
You have the option to add-on a visit to Olduvai Gorge or a hot air balloon Safari.

Day 8: full day Serengeti national park

Drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to diverse wildlife. Explore the crater floor on a game drive and spot animals like elephants, hippos, and rhinos.

Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater

For a spectacular morning of wildlife viewing in one of the most beautiful sites on Earth, we will start the day extremely early and descend onto the crater floor. Immediately following the game drive, there will be time for a picnic lunch next to the lovely Hippo Lake. After that, we will have some time for a brief wildlife drive before leaving the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for Lake Manyara and climbing the crater. Tarangire can be substituted for Manyara (recommended from June to September).

Day 10: Transfer to Tarangire National Park

You will have morning breakfast and thereafter, depart for Tarangire National Park, Tarangire National Park is a completely beautiful park with the distinctively different outlook. While in Tarangire, you will spot all the Big five game. With the dry season being the best time of the year with the epic game viewing. During the dry season, the thirsty animals flock to the river which is the best spot to see the various game species. Animals sighted here include; the biggest population of elephants can be sighted here. Return for lunch and later afternoon, you will transfer to Arusha. Where the guide will drop you off at the airport.
